Begin Where You Are

Something to Hold On To
Some mornings I am still wiping sleep from my eyes while trying to stretch. I remember when I could get up early and be ready to go. Now the beginning takes longer. I begin with the body I have today, and I want to help it grow stronger. I stretch, prepare, and choose a next step instead of waiting for the whole morning to feel easy.
Perhaps your beginning is slow, too. Bring today to God, including your desire for something better. Psalm 23 pictures a Shepherd who leads and restores. We can receive His care and respond: practice a habit, learn a skill, ask for guidance, or take a manageable step toward strength.
Your first task is to begin honestly and choose something purposeful. You may not feel motivated yet. Choose one small action you can practice today. Perseverance grows through returning to that choice, with room to adjust as you learn.
A Prayer for Today
Lord, meet me at this beginning. Restore my hope and help me act on it. Give me wisdom to care for my body, courage to practice something difficult, and patience to keep learning. Guide my next step toward something better. Amen.
